MIKE EIERMAN

VOLUNTEER ASSISTANT COACH - FIRST YEAR - NEBRASKA, 1996

    Mike Eierman was brought on board to help with the 2004-05 campaign as a volunteer assistant coach.

     A 1993 All-American at 142 pounds, Eierman attended the University of Nebraska where he finished second at the Big Eight Championships his freshman (1993) and junior (1995) years, and served as captain of his 1995 Big Eight Championship team.

     After college, Eierman trained as a resident athlete at the United States Olympic Training Center (USOTC) from 1999-2002, finishing sixth at the 200 U.S. Olympic Trials (63 kg).  In back-to-back years (2000-2001), Eierman earned All-American honors at 66 kg while competing at the U.S. Open.

     Eierman, a native of Chicago, ILL., has played a vital role in turning Missouri's offseason freestyle club into a successful team, coaching Ben Askren to a gold and Matt Pell to a bronze at the 2005 Pan American Championships.
